Title: enclosed or otherwise safe to be exposed transformer for a bias supply
Post by: K8DI on June 23, 2020, 01:32:29 PM
Building a power supply for a linear amp that I will eventually plate modulate. I need an enclosed transformer that when rectified/capacitor filtered (no choke) either full wave or bridge, will give 120-150 volts at 100 mA, for the bias supply. It will be solid state regulated to set the actual bias. I have several open transformers with lug connections that would work, but it has to mount on top of the chassis due to space, and thus I want something with no exposed terminals to be incidentally or accidentally touched. So enclosed, or open but with insulated leads rather than lugs would work. Anyone got something like that laying around they'd let go for a few bucks?
