The one in the radio is very bad. I didn't know there were different degrees of badness with meters :DThank You John W9BFO A picture would help. Any info on the meter face indicating "full scale" current? I would suspect there are numerous meters used in Cobra models along with other manufacturers, which use similar, if not identical meter movements. Can you take this "very bad" meter apart? Is the inside meter plate removable? Title: Re: Meter wanted Post by: KD6VXI on May 28, 2020, 11:04:15 AM Pretty much all the rounded meters will work out of any of the cobra radios.
Be aware that some have a plastic removable scale while some don't. Ebay is your best bet. If you are really hard pressed for a meter, I can ask around. I know a few people that own shops. A LOT of times if you play with the set screw on the cobra / Uniden and President radios you will free the meter assy up. --Shane KD6VXI Title: Re: Meter wanted Post by: Knightt150 on May 28, 2020, 03:44:14 PM Hello: The meter is rusted on the inside and has some kind of corrosion on the inside, no good ready for trash can. I really need a good working one, I have looked on ebay no luck. I could buy a old radio and remove the meter, but I don't think we want to pay that much.
Thanks John W9BFO Title: Re: Meter wanted Post by: Pete, WA2CWA on May 28, 2020, 08:27:45 PM Hello: The meter is rusted on the inside and has some kind of corrosion on the inside, no good ready for trash can. Check Ken's Electronics for CB parts: https://www.kenselectronics.com/index.html Or just Google Cobra meters or Cobra CB meters, etc., etc. Title: Re: Meter wanted Post by: Opcom on May 28, 2020, 11:42:16 PM I'll see if I still have the junk set of that kind. If so, I will PM.
