Title: W1RFP Blanchard Bunny Pratt has passed.
Post by: Ka1ole on November 24, 2019, 07:41:38 PM
Ka1ole, Jeff here in central VT.

W1RFP Bunny Pratt passed away yesterday in Hanover, NH. He was 93 years old.
I first met Bunny at an early NEDA (remember that?) Packet radio meeting
in Newport, NH.  His short obit was in the Valley News, Local paper here in
the Upper Valley today. I know AL W1VTP was mentioning that he had not
heard Bunny on as of late.  73 Bunny.

Never met Bunny, or even spoke with him directly, but used to hear him check in on the Lonely Guys Net quite often, the last time being October 5th. Could tell by his voice that he was getting frail, but at the same time his voice still retained that bright enthusiasm for the hobby. 73, Bunny, and congratulations on a life well lived.

Never met him or talked with him on the air, but I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Many have gone in recent years. We should all enjoy each day and the radio contacts therein.

Not QRT, just QSY.

Never met him or talked with him on the air, but I'm sorry to hear of his passing. Many have gone in recent years. We should all enjoy each day and the radio contacts therein.

I never worked or knew Bunny, but wish all that knew him, deepest sympathies.

Bunny was a dear friend of mine. He was a loyal supporter of the Vermont Net (I'm net mgr of that). He had for many years two NCS slots on VTN. He had suffered a couple of medical events where we almost lost him. The Vermont Valley News had a short reference to his passing and promised an obit later but it never appeared.  He had a pooch "Jack" who is looking for a new forever home if anyone interested.

Bunny has QSY'd to a better place watching our every move so we'd better behave

Later, Bunny

PS:  Here's the closest thing to an Obit... for Bunny that appeared in the Valley News

In recent months I worked Bunny in QSO on 3885 quite a few times.  I'm sorry to say
that I do not recall his voice from my time on AM in years past. He was certainly a
"Class A" operator whenever I heard him on the air.
