Title: New Receiver

Just picked this up, always wanted to play around with one of the WW2 German radios and the Torn E.B. was the first opportunity I have had to purchase a German radio in around thirty to forty years of playing around with Military Surplus radios. Have had almost every common American set from command sets, TCS, TBW, TBX and tons of newer items like my 106 sets and a splattering of Russian sets like the R-311 and R-324 but WW2 German stuff is expensive and hard to come by.
Going to start building a DC power supply for this tonight but have an operational question. How do you receive CW on a regenerative detector? Do you run the regeneration control higher? And if thatís the case how do you receive AM? Do you have to back off? Can see no separate controls for using the CW mode apart from voice other than a filter for CW mode.

Hi!

Congratulations!
For CW, turn the regen up until you get a nice tone.
For AM, keep the regen control as high as needed but below the point were it
oscillates.

Out of curiosity, did you make any performance tests such as sensitivity etc?

No, have not done any test beyond just playing around with it on the different antennas. The regenerative detector somehow makes it just as sensitive as a superhet but would assume that depending on the setting it would have a broad effect on sensitivity. Never used a TRF with regenerative detector before but now can see why they were so popular.
