Here are a series of pictures that are pretty sad. This is an old web page about Joe Batchelor W4EGK (SK) of Central Electronics. Shows his home lab, and junk box area before everything fell through the floor into a mud pit under the building.

This could happen to a lot of us.... :'(

No unfortunately. That is the MIT rad lab "junk box" or part of it.

Soon as I can get in my building (too hot right now!) I will post!

Will be diffocult in Costa Rica

It's been very hot in Texas.. The a/c is not the best -have to run it all day to get it tolerable even with 3 tons! Maybe tomorrow AM if I can get an early start. - I have to check on stuff out there anyway. What I need is a portable LED 'flood' to light up where I'm shooting, but let me see what I can do. I really need to downsize

I've had several 106 and 106A's and used to repair surplus ones. They are wonderfully complex, like what autotune became when it grew up. I have one of the very few USB/LSB IF filters for them, made by a gentleman in Japan, that drop in place of the original. Apparently the separate USB and LSB from a Canadian CH-150 will also work, but it isn't a drop-in. I sold my 106s to a friend years ago, he'a a much bigger collector of better quality stuff than I am. He was not interested in the filter though. One of my 106's was near-pristine CARC and took 2nd place in military class of a vintage radio contest. Besides the 106 sounding like a vacuum cleaner in a tornado when running, they are great radios and I always got super reports on the audio. A wee bit wide to rack mount but at some point who cares. I had been developing a thermal speed control for the amplifier heat exchanger external blower when I sold my units.

OK I have just picked some images, There ended up being way too many so here are some of the parts, I mean, a junkbox can have equipment but it is a source of parts.

It's far from organized but I know where everything is. I don't want to eat up more space here.
The last windows update broke the old web page software again so too bad on that on loading the whole mess to Bunkerofdoom.
If it's not Scottish, it's crap!

Very impressive, but I expected nothing less. Once again you stand as an example to us all.

Patrick I'm thinking that ur pics sorta remind me of how maybe Land Sea & Air got started in NY?..not sure if any pics of that HUGE collection still exist but ur on ur way with what ya got!!..BTW noticed some 8122's on a shelf maybe more in that box..did you test these out?..if ya did what tube tester allowed that?..cannot find anyone local who can but considering ur array of "stuff" maybe you got an easy way to do this..I cud but requires an auxillary socket arrangement not on my Sylvania..in any case I am impressed!!

I found things I had not seen in years, let me say. It's time to downsize the collection. Even the 170 images I have don't show near all of it. There are dozens of boxes some of which can be seen that are full of tubes. Just tubes and tubes and tubes. Many others with unsorted parts. These are the leavings of estates after the the local antique radios or ham radio club were called out. It's amazing the great stuff those folks will leave behind. Then I would go and 'clean out' the rest for the labor involved to do so. If anyone recalls Nortex Electronics, I ended up with more parts than I can count just for removing them, many new. Much more is in Gainesville TX in a barn!

I need to find a replacement for thumbs plus program I have been using to publish those tables of images on my site. what I need is something that will replace its 'web page wizard' function. it would take a list of pictures or files in a folder and create thumbnails of them and a plain standalone HTML table (no java no scripts or compiled executable code), and put the thumbnail of each item in the cells, so when you clck on that the full size image opens in the browser. I have been using version 3.3 forever..  something that simple should be open source these days.

I don't have a proper way to test 8122s. The only way I know of to test them here would be in the NCL-2000 amplifier. It's not in service right now. Needs new filter caps again, and rewired for 240V. I would rather try to make an adapter than have to pull that unit from the rack, clear my workbench, and fix it. Work area is very messy these days.
