Title: Meter Artwork
Post by: W1QWT on April 21, 2005, 09:14:45 AM
I am refurbishing a Hallicrafters 129-X receiver.
I did a stupid thing and tried to clean the S meter (dial) and I used too strong a cleaner and all the marking came off.
This meter had numerals 0 thru 10(9?) and a circle with a H in it if my memory serves me correctly.
I thought at one point I saw a JPEG picture of this meter on this bulletin board. If someone has this could they send it to me?
I figure I could print it on clear plastic decal paper and put it on this meter face.

QWT.....There was a thread a while back about making up and modifying meter faces using a computer artwork or design program...and printing them out on card stock to be glued over the original meter face.......Cool stuff.....The hq 129-x is a great RX....Gud Luk.... Steve

Damn these senior moments are coming all to frequently!
Very observant Ralph, yes truth be told it is a Hammarlund.
I must have been thinking about the work I have to do on my
S-38A when I typed that.
First gout and now my mind

I traced over the image in Photoshop and isolated the artwork into a clean layer. QWT, I emailed this file to ya. Hammarlund collectors might wanna grab this and keep it on file.

I did some dial artwork for a National receiver. That may have been the thread mentioned.
