Title: Shortwave broadcast on 3870? Post by: ka1tdq on July 07, 2019, 04:09:59 AM It's been a while since I've tuned into AM on 75 meters, so I thought I would last night. There was a strapping carrier on 3870 but when I tuned in, the voice was foreign. At first I thought it was Spanish, but after listening for a bit it sounded Arab or middle eastern.
Trust me, I've thought of a thousand jokes here... I've never heard foreign broadcast on 75 meters before so my first thought was that my SDRplay was starting to wig out. Are we now starting to get foreign broadcast occasionally? That would suck. The spectrum is clear right now except for a few SSB stations. Jon Title: Re: Shortwave broadcast on 3870? Post by: kb3ouk on July 07, 2019, 08:23:09 AM Probably was, 75 is a fairly popular broadcast band in Europe and Asia. I can't find any broadcasts listed for that frequency, but i know I've heard them around that part of the band before. 75 meters is only a ham band in region 2, in 1 and 3 it is broadcast.
