The best use of those frequencies really is in the forest.

Title: Re: 8 Meter Amateur Band petition Post by: W4EWH on July 03, 2019, 09:54:59 PM With every cellphone carrier and every 3, 4, and 5th Generation planner trying to get their hands on UHF and SHF bandwidth, I think any part of the spectrum we can gain is a step in the right direction.
There are a fair number of no-longer-current transceivers out there, ready to be put to work on an "8 meter" band. It's good training for future commercial techs, and a chance for hams to get inexpensive gear. My 2¢. YMMV.
