Title: Did you ever want to own an R-388? I did. :D

Did you ever want to own an R-388? I did. :D

Yeah, and a bit soft in the head... a few extra "followed me home".
I'm mentioning this now, because I don't like selling on epay at all.
And, it's not quite yet for sale...
Figure best to make it known here first.

So, Collins R-388 - more than one will be coming available, in the near future, clean, nice, lubed, aligned, working properly.
I've used one as my primary AM receiver for years. QTH, Albany NY. Pix, not yet, soon.

This is not your hamfest junker. Maybe not pristine collectable though. Nice.

I'm near Albany NY... fyi.

Hope this doesn't violate any rules.

Pic is of the one I've been using. LED bulbs...

50 bucks (you deliver)  ;D   Make a good solid state conversion (couldn't resist - have solid stated a number of formerly vacuum tube receivers with excellent results)...

Yeah, yeah... nice "shot across the bow" Mr. QIX!
OH, FYI, the first RF tube on at least one of these WILL be a solid state high voltage JFET composite
device! (will let everyone know how that works out)

In the meantime, that SDR of yours does let buckshot through... so there is no perfect.
;)

And Don, ya think? :p  (Don got a rack from me...)

Thanks guys!

Bear,

If the JFET doesn't work out, I have 3 used 6AK5's and 2 that are NOS. Maybe more, if I kept looking. Yours for the asking.

Yeah, but buckshot is in-band (within the receive bandwidth, and coming from outside), so that's ok  8)

I have a 51J-4 with mechanical filters at 6 and 9.1 kHz. The third position is an LC filter at 15 kHz. I take the diode load out to a hi-fi audio systems for window rattling audio.
