Title: Used Space Shuttle parts... from Italy!
Post by: KK4YY on May 23, 2019, 06:27:01 PM

Would you spend $2000 for 8 octal tube sockets?
No?

What if I told you they were genuine, vintage, original, from the Space Shuttle?
Now what do you say, hmm?

P.S. This is definitely NOT my listing.

Those are FOR the shuttle.  Not FROM.

As such, not worth nearly what they are asking.

It's those grammar things that tell you you know your shit vs you know you're shit lol.  Can't remember where I heard that one, but I love it.

Not directed at anyone, either.

please tell me what vacuum the space shuttle used!  :o  The Russian one maybe - but even that is doubtful as it was very up to date when built!

Maybe the Italian space shuttle used vacuum tubes. That would explain why nobody ever heard of it.

I didn't look up what type of radios they used in our space shuttles but I find it hard to believe, that any vacuum tubes were used? The closest thing associated with the shuttle that may have had a filament in it, probably were magnetrons of the day.............I rest my case, because its heavy!

The shuttle program used ultra-military grade T-368s and R390 paired combinations. The Director of NASA at the time the shuttles were designed was an AM enthusiast.

I wonder what HF radios if any were flown on shuttle missions?

I've seen that socket type before, don't recall where.

I thought so, had never seen any HF stuff in the consumer manual.
