Title: AM coast to coast last nite!
Post by: The Slab Bacon on April 17, 2005, 09:24:11 PM
I am not much on working DX or other long haul stuff, but Saturday nite was well worth mentioning. We had strapping signals coast to coast! With my station optimized for high angle close in stuff it was a real treat. We had good condx from coast to coast, and K7YOO putting the maiden voyage on a strapping new transmitter. The group was small, but the signals were big. The only thing missing for a coast to coast nite was everybody's favorite DX station - DINO!! Here is how I heard it from my end in baltimore, on 3.880 somewhere around 1:30 in the morning:

      W1IA @ +40
      W0VMC @ +40+
      K7YOO  @ +35
      K5AYD  @ +30
      W6PSS  @ +20

And a few others that I dont remember because it was late and I was
tired, however it was a great nite of late nite radio. wit good signals
     both close and distant

Was great fun...best conditions I have seen in many weeks. The best part was W6PSS dave with his new wire array and solid 10 over all nite long.

New wire array?  Tell us the details about it, Brent or Dave!

Always interested in hearing about new long haul antenna efforts.  A 3,000 mile path is the perfect distance on 75M for experiments of lower angle/DX antennas.
