Title: Tube data sheet website?
Post by: WB6VHE on April 08, 2005, 01:19:11 PM
Help!  Some time ago there was a post giving the web address of a huge collection
of vacuum tube data sheets.  I thought I'd bookmarked it, but apparently not!
Does anyone know the one I'm talking about?  They have complete data sheets
on almost everything.

Your help is appreciated!

Thanks, guys!

I found it!  Here is the site for future information; it's the best one I've ever seen anywhere,
with data sheets on just about everything:

Check it out!

You must have been trying to access Frank's Electron Tube Pages.  I tried to bring it up yesterday but got an Error 404 message.

Try the main Netherlands page. The tube data resides on several mirror sites in several countries and they are identical, except for the Poland site which additionally has been equipped with a tube search. The main website is the one in the Netherlands, his home country: http://www.tubedata.info/  He recommends that if you make a link to the tube data website, to use that url.

About this Website (http://www.tubedata.info/site.html)

I clicked on the Australian link and everything was there.  The U.S. link has gone dead for some reason.

One thing I like about this site is that it includes data sheets from several sources, e.g. RCA, Sylvania, General Electric, Tung-Sol, etc.  Sometimes certain ones contain information that the others don't have, so when I am looking for data for a tube, I check them all.

I find it extremely helpful to print out the characteristics curves for the tubes, and use them to plot out operating parameters not given in the data sheets, for example, to calculate the optimum plate load impedance for a transformer-coupled voltage amplifier stage.  I can draw all the lines I want on the chart, without damaging the ones in my tube data handbooks, and printing from this site is much easier than scanning and printing from my book collection, or going somewhere to use a photocopier.

updating this post.. duncanamps was not mentioned, and it should have been.

www.duncanamps.com keeps a good set of live and 'deep' links to online datasheets. Saves alot of searching. Look for the "TDSL" (tube data sheet locator). I use it alot to find the oddball types!

And you can also find these tube manuals on my site www.bunkerofdoom.com :
RCA RC-25 Tube Manual (1966) HTML
RCA RC-25 Tube Manual (1966) PDF (42MB download) -thanks to Barry Lambert
RCA TT-3 Transmitting Tube Manual
RCA TT-4 Transmitting Tube Manual
Sylvania 1943 and 1949 Tube Manuals
Sylvania 1959 Tube Manual
United Electronics 1959 Tube Catalog

If you use a HTML web-page downloader, you can snarf the entire lot of them for yourselves. I don't care. Not going to be there forever.
