Title: DRM RADIO RECEIVER Post by: W2PFY on December 07, 2018, 06:10:50 PM Hello out there radio fans! Does anyone know of a source to buy over the counter radios that are table top or for cars etc that are capable of receiving DRM? Are there converters for existing radios? I have looked around and can't seem to find anything for DRM? This is surprising to me inasmuch that there are a lot of SW stations broadcasting this mode around the world? People must be using something for this reception?

Not aware of any stand alone DRM receivers. There is a "DREAM" DRM software app for a PC which will decode DRM. I played with it a few years ago using an SDR receiver and another app called virtual cable to link it to DREAM. An external receiver can also be used if you feed the IF to the PC sound card input. It uses a full 10Khz BW so the IF needs to pass all of it. It sounds great, like the local FM station if the SN ratio is good enough for it it lock up to and decode but with weak stations or during fade periods you get nothing which is often the case, very annoying, don't see much future in it.
