Title: source of 572-B
Post by: Tom W2ILA on April 07, 2005, 09:27:07 AM
Are there any sources of 572'B tubes other than RF Parts?  They have the imports but I would like to find an NOS or good used Cetron.

Any other sources?

Hi Tom,
I've done business with Radio Electric Supply in Gainesville FL and found them very good guys to deal with.  Their price list shows three varieties of 572B: US, Chinese and Russian.   The US are priciest by far, but here's their web address.

Amateur Electronic Supply has them for $49.99 each.

I've been running the same matched quad of Svetlana 572s in my 30L-1 for several years...theyhave worked great.

You might want to do a web search on the brand that you're interested in, some have performed poorly and others reportedly have 'off-spec' mu.

I will say that RF Parts has always replaced and made good on any tube I've bought from them that developed problems. Last December an Eimac 4CX20000  bought from them crapped out with an internal short after 6 months of use in an FM transmitter, I sent it back and got a brand new one at no cost.
