There is not persistent freq storage but you can click on the tabs on the top. I have the common AM freqs there.

OK Thanks, BTW, it has a better sound than the other sdrs in the area.. Thanks for putting it on line! There are quite a few that use the software you are using but they either have lousy locations or antennas and are useless. Some have a 4 person limit? Is you sdr set up that way?

Since it’s a Kiwi SDR, you can pre-tune the receiver by including the frequency and mode variables in the URL. For example, to hear 3885kc in the AM mode with a zoom of “10” bookmark:

Change “am” to usb, lsb, cw, etc for other modes.

Yes, there is a 4 user limit if you want waterfalls on each slot. It can be configured for up to 8 users without waterfall on most of them. Yes, many online SDRs have poor antennas but a significant amount of them are set up for MW listening, not SW.

It is interesting to watch signals on both mine and Steve's, WA1QIX (who has a very good SDR). You can pretty much predict QSB as it traverses north to south or vice versa.

And Clark is correct, you can bookmark and use the URL with the frequency, mode, and zoom level as a shortcut.

This works very well for me as a valuable tool for TX testing. Just the right distance from my QTH on the eastern end of lake Ontario and with a good antenna.  Many thanks for this.

I can't seem to load the sdr from the link or the one by Clark? Maybe it's off the air right now?

UPDATE: It works on Chrome but not on Firefox? Firefox seems to be endlessly updating their software? Is anyone else having a problem with Firefox loading this SDR? My version of Firefox is 63.0.1 (64 bit) which is the latest update.

Nother update: I copied the sdr URL from Firefox to chrome and it worked? Maybe I have something set up wrong with Firefox?

Thanks guys, interestingly is the fact that none of the KiwiSDR Online receiver will not work on Firefox on this computer? Everything is set to the default settings on Firefox? Maybe I have one of those dag-burn govern-meant bugs implanted in me computer? I would not understand why that would be since I know no secrets etc? Maybe that explains that tractor trailer load of 8 track tapes parked outside?

Working very nice from down in NJ. Using Firefox / Win 10 + Ipad 10.5 PRO.

Can I get rid of that blasted "waterfall" and see a spectrum display??

The note in there states it may be down when he is using his station and to try later, could be what happened.
Click on the green Spec box and you will get a spectrum display in the upper area.

I was listening last night when Steve was working Nigel. Nigel was just at my local noise level. Online SDR to the rescue and I was able to hear both sides

FYI, 2 things I noticed:
1. Compared to Steve's SDR, the audio here has less hi freq audio response.

2. I've also noticed that the AGC is usually on, and like most SDR's they can overload very easily. Manual gain adjustment really improves how it sounds.

The KiwiSDRs have a passband of about 12kHz max. When you chose AM mode you can drag the yellow passband sliders out a bit more than the default.

Also, the BeagleBone server that runs it reboots in the wee hours of the morning (2 am to 6 am) when there are no users connected. It only takes 53 seconds to reboot so you don't have to wait long. ;)

The lack of adjustable gain control is a downside I agree. Despite these downsides the KiwiSDR is a turnkey solution for $220 and allows others to share my antenna when I'm off doing other things. Judging from the number of visitors logged there has been much more interest than I expected.

Lack of adjustable gain? If you click on AGC, you can disable it and manually set the gain. Dont get me wrong, it works incredibly well!  I appreciate having it available. FYI, I was doing some AM BCB DX'ing with it. Interesting, being able to listen to some freq's that are locally occupied by 5KW stations. Thanks

It sounds really nice: great to hear WA1HLR again! I copied some stations on AM from Virginia, one from New Bern, NC, and a couple of sideband signals.
