It's got the ammonia, to cut through the tobacco crud, evaporates with nary a trace when it's done, is harmless to any plastic and paint that I've ever come across, and comes in a handy spray bottle. I think the best advice, when it comes to vintage painted surfaces like the panels of Rangers and the like, is to be conservative with the aggressive rubbing action and chose a nice soft cloth or paper towel.
