Excellent work as always, Joe. After you get through the burn-in period and touch up the alignment etc as needed, I'll be curious to hear your overall opinion of the performance compared to other receivers of the mid-50s period. In this case, you have gone through the receiver from top to bottom, so it's as good as the day it left the factory and probably better.

Very impressive Joe.  Brave undertaking to remove the chassis for re-plating.  Looks great and super results.  Curious how you soldered some of the components that typically are soldered to the chassis like the main tuning caps?

People at Electric radio, the ARRL and QRZ would eat this stuff up Joe. I got to blow my horn with QRZ for year 2004 when I won the cover for their QRZ's CD which is a disc that has all calls worldwide etc. I don't know if QRZ still has that CD program anymore? The prize I won was five free CD's to give to my friends. Well anyhow it's all about a feel good thing for work that goes beyond what most others usually will do on a given project.

I guess the high prices that that receiver has enjoyed in the past is down, but I think that one would still command a very good price! I also think that money was not the reason why Joe did all that work.

BTW..The Sussex NJ ham fester is next week so maybe I'll see you there Joe?

Nice work Joe.   One question.  Just wondering if you silk screened the chassis with the tube numbers and so forth. And if you did, who did the work?  The images you provided didn't show that.
