Thanks for posting that, Mark. For those of us too young to remember, those photos give us an idea of what it must have been like to walk into a well-stocked surplus store in the 1950s. Beyond cool.

Those are great pictures. I have wondered how much good stuff is left there, looks liike he is not running out.
The owner is a very decent and honest guy. It may be the last of the great surplus stores.
I still have some pictures from 11 years ago - 2007.
We should buy from there whenever appropriate to help them do well in business.

I try to do just that, Patrick. Fair Radio is a great source for tubes and miscellaneous parts. Their service is excellent, and they ship quickly.  If you need something that's not listed on the website, you can send them an email, and they'll look around and see if they have it.

Thank you for posting these wonderful photos. Who can forget those old Fair Radio catalogs with the DYMO label maker headers? Glad to see a healthy inventory.

He is selling reprints of the catalogs IIRc. Great 'reading rack' materials for the man cave!

may as well throw in the 2007 stuff:

I want 208u-10!

There are many surplus stores around the country, none quite like that, but is there a listing on AMFone here? Ought to be, so that travelers can make stops!

I know of a single phase 208U-10.

Guy had 3, parted out a couple already.  Don't think he's hit the third one yet.

I can ask???

Sure, why not. I am in low budget mode though, not working full time at present. Looking though.
Hate to see one parted.. and would love to repair/restore that kind of thing.
