Title: FREE Orban Loudness Meter...
Post by: N1BCG on May 13, 2018, 09:52:58 AM
...that you can download.

Orban, a well known manufacturer of broadcast audio equipment, offers a comprehensive loudness meter that can run on Windows or Mac. I gave this a try and thought I'd share the discovery.

Several meters display a variety of level information in addition to VU, showing average and peak levels for files streamed and played back locally as well as line input audio. Dots on the meters show maximum RMS and peak levels. A settings page allows the user to contour the functions of the meters.

I've just started to experiment with this. One idea I had is to connect the left input to the processor output (that feeds the transmitters) and the right channel to the modulation monitor audio output.

Hopefully you'll find it useful as well for checking the performance of your audio processing!
