Title: South Georgia Island
Post by: k7mdo on March 28, 2018, 05:10:27 PM
Thought you might be interested in the old radio room of South Georgia Island in the south Atlantic.  Just returned from a "bird viewing" visit and visit to Earnest Shackleton's grave (see book "Endurance"). Tom

Wife and I were totally motivated by reading the book "Endurance"!

I did see a single vertical tower with what appeared to be inverted "V" wire configurations.

I can't make the an number out, but it's marked as an 'Antenna Control Unit'.....

Part of the AN/ARN30 set, I think.  Possibly a type A17?

These are the "normal" inhabitants. I am the one in red.

This was the usual scene on the island.....
