Title: R 390 Carrier meter
Post by: W2INR on March 04, 2018, 05:53:04 AM
I have an Collins R 390 ( not the "A")  and I have noticed that the carrier meter is always fully pinned on all signals. This just started to happen. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and maybe the solution?

Another symptom is when muted the meter does not zero out it only goes down to about half scale.

I have the same problem with my 390A G.

Every once in a while I go in and re-zero the S meter per the manual. I guess S meter drift is a known headache.

That was it Bud, as soon as I touched the pot the meter was jumping all over the place!

I cleaned and sprayed the pot and it seems to be fine again.

Thanks
