Title: Pittsburgh area AM "Elmer"
Post by: KD3ZJ on January 27, 2018, 11:33:35 PM
The time has finally come!
Probably like more than some, radio has been a part of most of my life. But as life goes, you get busy, things happen, family , work, moving, priorities etc, and radio has been sitting on standby for the most part.
I think the time has finally come to build my station !  Over the years I have been gathering radio's and parts and stocking the shelves, currently I have been researching on building several benches in the shack so I can get the radio's off of the shelves and on the air!

So with that being said, It is pretty safe to say I am out of the "loop" , and would like to get into it! It is fair to say I do not know as much as  I would like, so I am looking for AM guys (Elmer) in the Pittsburgh area for knowledge, advice, ideas and possibly even help or at least pointed in the right direction!
Any idea's, leads or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Run.

Just kidding. I’m sure there’s someone around your area that can help.

Not too many years ago there Used to be two Pittsburgh "Eds" ; don't remember their calls, both AM knowledgable. Perhaps still active and others will know of them to help you.

I too remember them, but it has probably been 20+ years since then. I met them and others thru someone else and maybe crossed paths once or twice at hamfest in the last 20 years.
