Title: Icom 7300 Tuner Post by: WA4WAX on January 27, 2018, 09:56:37 PM Question:
When the Icom 7300 tuner is off, does the set default to 50 + j0 at the jack? Thanks! Title: Re: Icom 7300 Tuner Post by: KB2WIG on January 27, 2018, 10:06:12 PM Most 'new' radios are designed to 'work' into a 50 ohm load.

My Icom stuff stays tuned to where it was when the tuner is turned off. But I don't know for sure what the 3000 does. klc Title: Re: Icom 7300 Tuner Post by: KA2DZT on January 28, 2018, 01:28:28 AM Question: When the Icom 7300 tuner is off, does the set default to 50 + j0 at the jack? Thanks! I would think so, what else would possible happen? Title: Re: Icom 7300 Tuner Post by: w1vtp on January 31, 2018, 05:08:56 PM The source Z of all these rigs is 50 ohm +/- X furlongs per fortnights. ;D Which means you need to present a 50 ohm load no matter what. With the internal tuner turned on - all bets are off unless you present the same impedance to it as the last time you pressed the 'TUNE' button AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
