Title: ASCII components?
Post by: Bill, KD0HG on March 23, 2005, 09:19:48 PM
I was trying to e-mail a crude schematic to someone. I did come up with the resistor   ---^^^^-----

and diodes that I needed    --->|----

For future reference, what other components could I do in ASCII text?

..

Bill,

Your resistor could use some improvement like so:__/\/\/\/\__
How about a cap like so: -----||-----
The diode lools real good ! ----|<----    or  ----->|-----
Off hand, I can't think of  any others ...

Do a search for schematics in older Usenet postings. You'll find many inventive ways of using plain text to "draw" a schematic. Similar stuff is probably also available in the Glowbugs archive.

How about a triode, or tetrode, with plate cap?
