Title: Longshot.... Brown Boveri ABB Sk55 info request
Post by: KD6VXI on September 19, 2017, 03:29:35 PM
Anyone have any info on this beast?  Problems, maintenance issues, etc?

Really looking for a maintenance manual, instructions, whatever.

I realize a half million Watt xmitter is a little bigger than we normally talk about, but I have a need for the knowledge soon, I hope.

Thanks, in advance!

Lol.  I wish.

Biggest thing I've got to strap with now is a 4cx5k, and I have to put that one together.

This request is work related, actually.

Although I don't know the entire history of the xmitters they have, the two BBC units they have are HF, not MW.

That Transworld site had ceased HF, stripped its xmitters for hf and was only doing MW when that article was written.

Now, it could be, if TW had some BBC 500k boxes before they stripped the hf room, these may have come from them.
