Title: Re: Is it time to dust offc the transmitter...? Post by: KC4VWU on August 27, 2017, 03:12:48 AM Yeah , I know Steve. Fell in the radio room. Discretion is not my strong suit. Pretty bad bruise on my lower back and the xyl is pissed. Worked a lot of friends on 28.370 thou ;hadn't qso'd in a long time. My own dumb fault, told you it was dangerous!

Actually fired up the Heathkit Injuns yesterday morning on the good wife's suggestion. Worked Dale/KW1I on 40m. He was using his Collins TDO for the first time in quite a while. Never heard it before. Sure sounded great rolling into norther VA from NH at 10-20 over. The abrupt cool down from the sweltering heat and humidity here in the south is definitely a little reminder that better radio conditions are just around the corner. Plenty more heat coming, I'm sure. Still, it's nice.... Title: Re: Is it time to dust offc the transmitter...? Post by: Opcom on August 27, 2017, 12:03:41 PM nervous about shine. I'm told that they have to be very careful to discard the first portion of the batch because of deadly impurities. Hope they do!

Title: Re: Is it time to dust offc the transmitter...? Post by: KC4VWU on August 27, 2017, 03:21:54 PM Well, one things for sure, I'm definitely good for a while with alcoholic beverages. One reason why I stay away from the liquor store, but if I do, I try to limit it to a pint only. No such luck this time as they seem to only sell moonshine in fifth size. Like I said, this particular brand is dangerous because it is extremely smooth... goes down like water... obviously. AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
I think next time, I'll use Arizona Arnold Palmer Half & Half for QSO fuel. Tastes great but less dangerous! |
