Title: T-368 Owner Registry and Survey
Post by: W1RC on July 24, 2017, 04:42:05 AM
Good Morning Gang:

I am in the process of updating the T-368/URT Transmitter Owner Registry that has not been updated for several years.  I believe that last update was in July 2012, which was exactly five years ago.

I have combined all the available data from the past into one document but it is likely inaccurate as to the ownership of the transmitters..It would be nice to have the Registry as current as possible.  My interest is more statistical that as to who owns what.  It is not my intention to publish email addresses or any other personal information other than the owner's call sign.

I have set up a special Gmail address for this purpose.  It is:

t368registry@gmail.com

Please send an email to this address with the following information on any T-368 transmitters that you own:

Your callsign, T-368 model, serial number, contract/order number, and person/call from who obtained.

Additionally if you know anyone who owns a T-368 and is not a subscriber to this please help obtain their information or forward this message to them.

This information is being used for statistical purposes.  We would like to figure out approximately how many were manufactured, how many contracts were given, to whom and the number of units in amateur service.

You may view the Registry as a "work-in-progress" to check the accuracy of information at this Web location:

http://forum.near-fest.com/index.php?topic=1350.msg3133#msg3133

Please do not repost the list because I want to attempt to keep only the latest and most current version online.  It will be hosted on the NEAR-Fest site permanently.

Any corrections or additions are greatly appreciated.  Please send to t368registry@gmail.com

Thank you very much for your cooperation.

73,

Michael, W1RC

Mike, K3FEF has one that was previously unlisted.

It does NOT have an ID plate.
It was mine, sold it to him, 2016, he restored.
I bought it from a fellow who had it in a garage, that came from a ham that had hamboned the
RF deck, but it looked like it ran at one time. That was in the 1990s... late-mid.

Afaik it has drawers from two different rigs... the RF deck has aluminum front panel,
the two lower decks are steel panels.

He may or may not have discovered markings/info while restoring the unit.

FYI.

This is probably more an interesting fact and nearly impossible to research, but one of my elmers had a T-368.  It was an operable unit when I saw it around 1990.  He poured over the Fair Radio Sales flyer all the time (as we all did), so he may have been one of the purchasers from there.  I remember he said that he made a deal with a guy he knew to have it shipped by truck.  He's been a SK since 2009 and had many calls, but here's what I know:

Frank Gagner N1GXW
Baileyville, ME

Jon

**  Actually, I did some research.  He was best friends with Keith Hanson, KA1WXN.  He's still licensed at the same address in Baileyville, so I bet he got it (or knows where it went).  Keith is a good guy.  I built a HW-9 back in the day and he helped me finish it up.

Yes, it is listed as an “unknown variant”.  Thanks for the info.

Hey Mike when are we going to hear you on the air with the T368?  IIRC you were having zoning issues.
