    I'm so done with windows, getting ready to lay
in Linux Lite 3.Whatever.  To that end I was poking
around on my system to find stuff I don't want to
loose.  Ran across a nice pix of a MC-269 as used
in the SCR-299.  I restored and equipped this thing
back in 2000(?).


    The SCR-299 was used early in WWII and came
from depot with a BC-610C. Also used the small
chevy panel delivery truck before the SCR-399
which used the "Shelter" on the back of "Deuce and
a half". Both towed the same 5kw generator.


     Not a lot of the wooden components still exist
from WWII.

VERY nice, Dan. You're right - you don't find many of these anymore. I suspect most got ripped out of surplus vehicles that were used for service vans or such. Some may have lived on as work benches in shops or garages. Finding one in decent shape is hard enough. Finding one with the ancillary items like lights, controls, etc or even finding those separately is no doubt an exercise in resourcefulness and patience.

Please post more shots when you can. Always thought it would be neat to rebuild one of those entire outfits.

  N6FEG here in the Bay Area has spoken about restoring a SCR-299, the link is from the Military Vehicle Meet at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA. last August. The BC-610 and some of the other items belong to him. I went on the first day of the meet, a Friday, that night a number of us in the Bay Area worked that BC-610 on the short vertical, there were two stations  in Fresno County a 150 miles away that worked it too.

I just saw this post now..5yrs later. Working on trying to piece together a SCR 299 for many years. The person who got the MC-269A table is extremely fortunate, as it's truly a unobtainable piece of the SCR 299...and I've looking for over 30+yrs.
