The band was in amazing shape as all listed above could be heard everywhere! The long distance wasn't as surprising as was Tim and Steve being able to hear each other!

We ended up on 7283kHz due to BC and SSB activity around 7290kHz. This was around 0000Z to 0130Z when I had to leave. I'm sure Tim and Steve carried on past that. It was good to work you again on 40 meters, albeit briefly on your way out. Thanks for staying long enough to say hi. You and Tim were both doing very well into central NY and I could hear Steve fine as well. I will be checking out 40 on a more regular basis in the evenings. Hopefully we get to chat again soon. I was running ~25 watts via my 40 meter folded dipole up 29' and was coming in strong. This was probably the most AM activity I have had on 40 in many years.

Last week I heard early mornings (by me!) BC on 7295 and 7275. And some times on 7285 a Chinees? BC station. I am rock bound with my Lettine and HT-40 but use the NCX-3, which gives me some flexibility. A homebrew VFO is on my to do list. Late evening on 40 meters has been interesting and exciting when I get someone returning my CQ at 2:00 A.M. EST! AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
