Title: request
Post by: Opcom on June 25, 2016, 11:01:57 PM
My cat Zoey is very ill. She's the closest to a 'station cat' here, as she is always attracted by the sounds of my SWL and jumps up to sit with me while I tune around. She's had some kind of vestibular incident or problem that occasionally strikes old cats and I'm trying to nurse her back to health at home. The veterinarian says we will know in a week or so if she will recover, or if it's the terminal type. Whomever does not object, would be so kind as to mention us in their prayers?

A pet is a family member and deserves the prayers, love, and respect same as any other.  I hope and pray that Zoey makes a quick and complete recovery.  There is nothing more loyal than a cat in your home.

We lost our twenty-year-old cat Chessie (who incidentally looked a lot like Zoey) about two years ago and we still miss her terribly, so I can sympathize with you both. We hope the vet can come up with treatment that will enable Zoey to be Second Op for a long time to come!

Pat,

Sure hope Zoey bounces back.   We had two cats, but several years ago our 4 year old one just suddenly died one morning.  She was fine when I left the house to do some chores, but when I returned home at noon time she had died.   No warning or anything apparently wrong with her.  Now we are down to just one and she is 10 now.  They truly become integrated into your family, so I feel your anguish and pain your going through.  At this point remain positive and hopefully things will turn around.

  Patrick,

I hope your Feline friend recovers, and gives you many more years of companionship.

The Best,

I want to thank you for all the prayers and good wishes. It's been now 9 days and Zoey is doing much better. She has regained about 65-70% of her balance and can now get up and down from the bed by using some 'stairs' I made of cardboard boxes with towels on them for traction. Her spirits are up since she can now lie on the bed by the window during the day which is what she likes to do. She may still have to spend the nights in the bathroom (sick room) but she does not seem to mind the peace and quiet there.

I am grateful for the last 6 months.

It is my very sad duty to report that Zoey the cat has passed away after a short but
severe illness during which she suffered a very bad stroke.
She passed quietly away without pain in my arms at her doctor's office.

Zoey had a very good life and was fortunate to live for a total of 18 years.

Her happy smile and enthusiastic purring are missed. My one remaining cat has been pacing around and calling. They know.

Maybe some remember this pic. of Zoey with her 'favorite' capacitor.

I grieve for your loss Patrick. I know just how you feel having lost my Zoey back in June 2016. I think of her every day.
