Title: 20 METER AM "LATE-NITE" 2016 - mp3 scope attached
Post by: ve6cq on June 12, 2016, 01:39:24 AM
I've attached a quick montage of some of the stations I worked tonight on late-nite 20 meter AM.

Stations gather most nights in the spring/summer/early fall anytime after 10:00pm/EST on or about 14.330mhz.

As you will hear - NO QRM, and the band is STILL wide open!

A thrill for me is working stations that have NEVER tried AM before, and are quite smitten with it by the end of the contact.

Most noteworthy in the attached mp3 is W9AD. Dave was checking into our group remotely with a smart-phone from a bus (in motion) in Portland Oregon, via his studio and transmitter in Barrington, IL.

Talk about dedication:)

I heard the AM signals last night on 14330. Time was around 10:30 CST. I tried to break, but no go. Signals were S5 to 20/9. Good to hear some AM on 20m.
