Title: TS-830s RF board Alignment
Post by: WA4WAX on March 29, 2016, 03:35:07 PM
I was reading the directions for RF board alignment.  I am not entirely clear on the last part.

Anyone familiar with this procedure?

Yes, it is new driver time!!  :-)

For starters, it would be helpful if you detailed the procedure here or at least point to a link with the manual and page number and which specific procedure in the alignment instructions.

You might be better served by going to the Yahoo Kenwood Hybrid group.

However, I do have a TS-820S service manual if you need one.

Ok!

Please see:

http://wb4hfn.com/KENWOOD/Articles/TS-830S_Alignment.pdf

Page 37, item 18.

I am referring to the last steps.  It addresses 3 coils on the RF board, and 1 in the IF board.

It says carrier control should be set to maximum alc.  If so, what are you setting those last coils for?

Thanks!

That step is for TS-830 M version.

The TS-830S is SSB only.

The TS-830S was the first rig I purchased after I became re-licensed. Still have it for "old times" sake. ;)

Now do AM almost exclusively.
