Title: Capacitor substiution
Post by: N9axl on January 31, 2016, 06:31:45 PM
I am working on this Johnson Viking 2 CDC. It requires dual 15/15 mfd electrolytic caps. All I have been able to find is either 20/20 or 10/10 dual caps. Which would be preferable?

Use the 20/20.

Questions are getting easier or was this a trick question.

PS. All of the electrolytic caps I use are discreet axials.

There is discrete and there is discreet but they mean two different things.

The discreet axials are the ones Hallicrafters hides under the tuning deck of the s20r.  So discreet and hidden you don't realize they are there and can't get to them when you do.
