Title: Nice conditions on 21.430 MHz 10-26-2015
Post by: W1AEX on October 26, 2015, 02:21:39 PM
I called CQ on 21.430 at around 11:00AM (EST) and was surprised to hear Glenn - G8NOF come back to me. My antenna was pointed out to the west but he was S-8 to S-9 off the back of the beam. The attached mp3 catches Glenn with my RX bandwidth set to 16kc. We chatted for a bit and when we finished up Justin - K5WAZ in New Mexico called. Justin is running an Apache Labs ANAN-200D driving an amplifier to ~175 watts of carrier with peaks to ~800 watts. His signal held up well and rolled in and out at S-9 to S-9 +20 dB throughout most of our 40 minute QSO. As we chatted, IW5EKR - Aldo checked in and said hello. Even off the back of the beam Aldo was S-5 to S-7 and he reported that he could hear Justin and I very easily. The link below is a video/audio capture of Justin's signal today.

Perhaps the band is going to give us another ride this fall and winter.

Rob,
Yesterday afternoon +/- 17.00 hour by us (16.00 UCT time) I heard AM on 21.430.
I have been listening and calling to that USA AM station.
But I am not sure if he did speak to a lokale person or far away...
His signal did have many fading and I could not hear a name or call.

But I keep my receiver on 21.420 - 21.430. :)

Greetings,

Henk, pe1mph
