Title: It Lives! Post by: KA8WTK on October 01, 2015, 07:15:44 PM At Dayton this year I bought a BC-611. About a month ago I purchased one of the inverter supplies from Italy. When I tried the radio with the new supply there was nothing.
Started by checking tubes. Yep, the 1R5 is no good. I had a new one and still no joy. Started checking more and found an open choke. With that replaced I decide to check the current draw from the PS - checks within specification. Alright! We have hiss from the speaker and I can hear it in a receiver. Time to step out of the shack and see if it can hear anything. "... N8ECR and the Mighty Elamc Net" It lives again! Bill KA8WTK Title: Re: It Lives!
