Title: C.B. Rules Post by: Knightt150 on September 25, 2015, 09:33:23 PM Hello: Dose anyone know if there is a citizen band rule book a new one, I was given a old one sometime ago. Or what the rules are on CB if ANY, I would not know who to contact if I did hear or see a violation {don't say FCC} I know that.

For all the good it does, here are the FCC rules governing Part 95. You might just as well go to the source, rather than some yokel's interpretation. From what I have seen in the FCC Daily Digest, they do little enforcement there except for an occasional linear amplifier bust. I'm not sure if there's anyone at the Enforcement Bureau who has the time and budget to chase any but the most egregious violators. Title: Re: C.B. Rules Post by: Knightt150 on September 25, 2015, 11:03:38 PM Thanks for the help it says in part 95.3 that a CB LICENCE is required, I remember in the 50's you could get a license with call numbers and a letter or two so where do you get a license this day and age?

95.404 (CB Rule 4) Do I need a license? You do not need an individual license to operate a CB station. You are authorized by this rule to operate your CB station in accordance with the rules in this subpart. Rules Post by: KD6VXI on September 26, 2015, 11:54:38 AM Wh n I was actually inspected by uncle FeeCees, it was explained to me that by the purchase and use of the CB set, you are agreeing legally to be bound by part 95.
Dont like the rules, don't hook it up. Implied consent, was the word of that day. --Shane KD6VXI Title: Re: C.B. John W9BFO Just make sure you don't go over 5 watts output. 6 watts and you'll probably be able to get away with it. 7 watts and higher, you might not be so lucky HI HI. Fred Title: Re: C.B. Fred Part 95.410: Your CB station transmitter power output must not exceed the following values under any conditions: AM (A3)—4 watts (carrier power) SSB—12 watts (peak envelope power) Title: Re: C.B. Rules Post by: KD6VXI on September 26, 2015, 10:43:34 PM I always loved the oddness there. 12 watts of peak ssb power, but 16 watts of peak am power.
Some tried to argue the modulator s yle amplifier legality because it only raised the pep value of the transmitter. The carrier remained at 4 watts. Didn't fly with uncle FeeCees.... --Shane KD6VXI Title: Re: C.B. Rules Post by: Opcom on October 03, 2015, 09:49:33 AM I'm close to three truck stops. Lots of activity day and night.
