Title: 80 Watt Class D Transmitter by WA7JHZ
Post by: Steve - K4HX on September 06, 2015, 10:55:10 PM
From David, WA7JHZ:

Attached is a GIF schematic of my 80-Watt transmitter. Its RF final runs in class-D mode and the overall distortion is about 2.8% THD at 1KHz at 100% modulation. Two of my older designs use an LM566 triangular wave generator and LM311 comparator. The TL494 makes for a simple and cheap PWM stage in my later units.

I would like to see someone improve on this design. My friend, Arne (W7TRO) has run this design at 300-Watts carrier. If a person could select an FET set with good speed and 600-Volt source-drain breakdown, I believe it could provide 375-Watts of continuous carrier.
