Title: This morning on 3880 khz AM from the USA
Post by: pe1mph on August 25, 2015, 09:57:23 AM
Hello,

Some weeks ago I heard, on the camping, already Don, K4KYV, but very week.
But this morning on 3880 khz I heard Steve, WA1QIX and I made a little recording.
His signal were between S2 to S5 and I heard more AM stations talking on that freq.
But those signals were to weak to copy...
I am note sure if I heard Don talking on 3880??

Time (by me) +/- 06.20 in the morning.
Outsite it were raining, it looks like autumn.

We (F6AQK, 9H1ES and I) are early mornings in the weekend on 3660 khz in AM.
Maybe we get soon good AM conditions on 80 mtrs....

This morning again! :D

On +/- 3872 khz I heard an AM station from the USA.
But... he were talking very long and his signal was around S3.

Sorry I did not heard a name or call.

Evenso I could receive on mw a BC station:
- 1130 khz: WBBR Bloomberg
With a fair signal, around S3.

I was on 3872 last night.  There were some other stations in there on 3872 as well.  It sounds as if someone made a very long transmission  ;)

Regards,  Steve

1130 is out of NYC. It is the old WNEW frequency.
Somehow when the former NYC mayor and multi-billionaire Bloomberg got a hold of the frequency, and it suddenly became LOUD!  HIS station is probably the LOUDEST I can receive out of NYC!! (I'm 125mi north).

In the old days it was 770 WABC at the top of the food chain, and maybe WOR. No longer.

ABC and BBR are both 50k omni in the daytime. Maybe BBR's tower is in better swamp land.  ;D

I think the left over Bloomberg programing material is placed in the swamp.

Hello,
Nearly every day I can receive a BC on 1130 khz!
But which station (name) using now 1130 khz?

A pity last weeks I hear NO AM from the USA between 3870 - 3885 khz.
