Hello Shane,

Very good video.  Two Thumbs up!   ( SCR 299 )  They show a "F" after the number on the crate?

Probably the best 26.40 minute video I have watched in a great while.

At 12.32 there was a woman soldering with a large soldering iron.  I am only 50 but not knowing any better at the age of 9 or 10 I stared out soldering with such a large soldering iron until someone said "Your Soldering a Mic connector using that?"  Life became even better after learning there was something much smaller.

There was a jump in the video at 13.20?  The section about the Modulator and the Amplifier.

Although they modified the mount for those transmitters it is still a wonder how they held up.  Even when they use a fork lift to place them on the trains?  Good fork lift drivers by the way when they place the trailer-ed generators in the box cars.

And the assembly line with men and women.  Almost like they were putting together a car.

Oh and now I know how the small portables transmitters had gotten their signal to the main head quarters.  It looks as if they transmitted to the SCR 299 Vehicle and then they would pass the message from there to Head Quarters.

Anyway thank you for the video.  It was worth the time.

Ken

The undefiled videos from archive.org can be made into one continuous video with various free software for those who prefer that. It's fun. Download the MPEG2 files, the largest ones. Those are the best quality. I use MyFFVideoConverter to edit but there are probably better programs.

NW7US logo - This is a contender for the  Shining Badges Of Self-Aggrandizement award.

Why do hams do this? Watermarks on every page of a manual one did not author is just as bad. Neither annoyance will "keep people from selling them on DVD on ebay" so that old horse is long dead and that dog won't hunt. Where is the public service spirit among some hams? Giving back to the hobby? The right place for a self-mention is in a discrete place not messing up the content. A continuous logo or watermark is not "content".
