I took my whole computer apart thinking it wasn't working.  I sprayed a whole half can of WD-40 into it and put it back together but the site still wasn't working.

I'll know better next time, not to waste so much WD-40.  Stuff seems to fix most anything else.

Glad it's back, and thanks for the hard work to maintain it.

It put an amazingly large hole in my browsing habits having it gone!  :o

KA2DZT, did you bash it a few times first?  That seems to work with the Tardis a lot!

Thanks Steve for getting things back and running.   I had the laptop up at NEAR-Fest and saw the "crap-out"!

I replaced a few 12AX7s in the server and all is good now.

You can slow it down by replacing those 12AX7's with 12AU7's for those still on dial up!

What would 12AT7's do?

What would 12AT7's do?

It has been proven that 12AT7's would improve performance in the area of DSL speed!  DSL is still somewhat slow but my experience is that at least its steady at that speed. DSL's are like being on a private line and are not shared like cable..

What with the " failed attempts to engage site" messages and getting same message on three computers my first thought was that you'd been hacked.
Next thought was by who.
Whew!

And for getting the site back up,  how about we all get Steve a pair of push pull 807s?  Cold,  of course!

Best idea yet.

I had to dredge up long lost (and not very proficient) Unix skills to get it done.  :P

As Ira Flato once said on his radio talk show, "I don't like computers, I don't want computers, I wish they would go away and leave me alone!"

I got this message again earlier this afternoon after the site was unavailable:

But, here we are all fun and cozy again.
As someone once said, "things happen", sometimes for a brief moment; sometimes for several longer moments.
It's like that old "bump in the night" moment.

That's the new AMfone fire drill message. We're going to see how many people contact us when the site is down vs. how many people go post somewhere else about it, relying on magical osmosis or the ghost of Marion Barry to get the message through.  ;)

EAB = Emergency AMfone Broadcast

Isn't software great?

Measurement of Effectiveness of the RRT

It has been suggested that several key measures be used to evaluate the effectiveness of the RRT:
Codes per 1000 discharges
Codes outside the ICU
Number of unplanned ICU admissions
Utilization of the RRT
Mortality

Institutions may choose to enter their RRT data into the NRCPR, and thus receive standard quarterly and annual reports as well as benchmark their measures of success with other institutions.

As suggested by wife, a Neurosurgeon PA. She's still trying to find MY brain! ;D
