Title: Viking Valiant Band wafer help
Post by: N1OHN on March 22, 2015, 05:15:49 AM
Hello all

My band switch is gone :(

I understand that I could use one from the Ameritron al-572 or the al-80 and double it up.

Anyone have info on how I can do this mod?

Thanks all!!!

Dave

Are you really saying the entire bandswitch (wafers, metal frame, hardware, etc.) is missing? If true, a junker Valiant for parts might be worth considering or maybe you can find someone parting out a Valiant.

You might also try here. Looks like he has a band switch for sale:

Give it a little more time, someone should have some help.  These wafer switch problems are common and threads about them come up all the time.

the rear band switch is completely burnt out ....

That's a little different then "My band switch is gone". Buy the entire band switch if Gary still has it. At least you'll have some future spare repair parts.
