Title: Italy on 5 watts. Post by: KX5JT on November 27, 2014, 08:42:10 AM Just made a contact with Frank (Franco) I5KAP in Pisa. He was using 5 watts and coming in nicely into Louisiana.

Congratulations John. I've worked Franco a few times in recent years. He's almost always running low power. I need to get my 10 meter antenna back up! :( Title: Re: Italy on 5 watts. Post by: W2VW on November 27, 2014, 01:11:38 PM That's a nice contact John. Congratulations!
Franco was active on this site a while back so he may reply here. Title: Re: Italy on 5 watts. Post by: KX5JT on November 27, 2014, 09:09:42 PM Yes, it was 10 meter AM on 29.020... he was calling CQ this morning when I got home from work about 7:30 am CST, or an hour after sunrise. I answered with the TS-570 at 25 watts and when he told me of his 5 watts, I turned mine down to 5 watts carrier and finished the QSO. He was on a 3 element yagi, I was on a 26 ft vertical ground plane. AMfone - Dedicated to Amplitude Modulation on the Amateur Radio Bands
