Title: This *fluted knob* - smallest one?? Post by: WBear2GCR on November 24, 2014, 07:36:32 PM The image shows a knob type everyone knows very well, it's likely on more than one piece of equipment you have, like it is in my shack. It's found in the skirted and non-skirted type.
Wonder what you experts have to say, what's the smallest ones you've seen?? Anyone seen 1/2" or smaller?? I'm actually looking for some smaller ones, but looking around and thinking about it, I don't recall ever seeing any that small. You? _-_-bear Title: Re: This *fluted knob* - smallest one?? Post by: WU2D on November 26, 2014, 10:05:40 PM I really do not think they made any small ones that were fluted but they did make a lot of small Daka knobs for instance on the 51J3 zero and antenna trim and on Eico and lots of HP test gear.

Post by: WBear2GCR on November 28, 2014, 04:55:32 PM I seem to recall some gear somewhere, who knows, I may even have it, where there was a rather small version of the fluted "Daka" knob. Those little ones like that ant tune knob are exactly the ones I'd love to replace, I really really don't like how they look at all... ...so I was hoping that they were made, by some mfr or another and that I could find a few... lacking that I was going to have a go at making some with some aluminum stock and my lather + milling machine... anodize after or paint. For that matter one could possibly machine down an old Bakelite knob too... messy though... |
