Title: 15 meters was definitely back today 9-28-2014
Post by: W1AEX on September 28, 2014, 04:57:52 PM
I started playing on 21.420 at around 10:30 AM EST and worked a few stations then moved up to 21.440 when the American Service (SSB) Net inexplicably started up on 21.418. I was lucky enough to work stations steadily until around 1:00 PM when I had to depart. Most signal levels were in the S-7 to S-9 range, except for Robert W0VMC who touched S-9 +30 at times. The attached mp3 gives an idea of the incredible signal Robert was pouring into Connecticut today. Chuck K1KW came in and joined us and even though he was only running 10 watts carrier I could easily hear him via backscatter/groundwave/tropo or whatever the band was offering at the moment. It was great to find so many stations playing on 15 meters today.
