For a look (and a paper download) at some large RF power amplifiers in scientific installations you can download the PDFs of papers, from this link: https://oraweb.cern.ch/pls/linac2014/TOC.htm Then click the MOPP session and find "MOPP107". This is what I reported on last week. Pair of TH628L tetrodes for 3000 KW peak, 360 kW average power. On the air now. No modulation besides the variations required to keep the RF field within 1% and the phase within 1 deg at all times. There are lots of other fun reports there if you care to search. K5PRO |
