Title: Johnson 500 Power Switch/w/Key
Post by: WD7F on August 26, 2014, 04:40:32 PM
Found a surplus source for a switch and key that works just fine on the 500.  Here's the link: http://www.surplussales.com/Switches/SWAssort-1.html (http://www.surplussales.com/Switches/SWAssort-1.html) Arrow Hart Division of Crouse Hinds part number 81715.  Comes with one key, bezel and nut.  Cheep!

Just in case you're interested, you can pay $69.90 for the same thing here:  http://www.wellgainelectronics.com/arrowhandhkeylockswitch3a250vac2pos-1.aspx (http://www.wellgainelectronics.com/arrowhandhkeylockswitch3a250vac2pos-1.aspx)

The replacement switch is made by the original manufacturer. The new key is slightly thinner than the original and the head of the key is slightly different shape but works fine business in the original switch. So if you lost your key get this switch. The replacement single pole switch is rated 6A 125V, 3A 250V. The original double pole had both poles soldered together for the same rating.
See attached picture of original key and replacement switch in bag.
