Title: Farmer's Almanac COLDER WX
Post by: flintstone mop on August 23, 2014, 07:21:57 PM
Farmer's Almanac seems to have 80% accuracy in their predictions and they are saying that this coming winter for most of the USA will be worse than last winter. Some parts will get a lot of wetness and others will get wetness and extreme cold. The Hear-say is that a severe winter has about 5 replays. The Sun has been a little sleepy lately...I hope we aren't heading into a mini ice age.
There was an interview on FOX news with someone associated with Farmer's.

Fred.......... bbbrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr more cold and worse !!!

I'll take all the cold I can get...I'm tired of the 115 degree days in the Summer here :P.

Plus it lasts some 8 months now.  Maybe "global warming" ought to be redefined "Summer lengthening", as it never was that long here in the past ???.

Summer has certainly been cooler here.

Maybe cold is the new normal.

I love shoveling snow with the outside speaker on.

Not sure what the prediction is for California, the summer here in the Bay Area has been cool. We are in a severe drought from last year, another year of drought here will be bad news and not just here, food bills will rise even more. I made a trip down to Northern Arizona last month, lots of fallow fields in the Central Valley, no water for irrigation.

NO NO! Havent you all heard. There is global warming. We just think it is cool. I saw it on TV so it must be true. I think the fellow was from the Flat Earth Society. I could hear someone in the background saying" The sky is falling The sky is falling." Just for sanity I dug out my childhood copy of "the Emperors New Clothes" and reread it. Then I went to visit my Learned Engineer friend who had told me that "Without question we would run out of oil in the world in the year 2000." He is still driving two cars. A VW stinkmobile and a STS Cadillac. I have enjoyed the cooler summer. Have even been eyeing a pending long wire antenna repair. Perhaps next week I will tackle it.  40 M has been pretty good too. Been testing a low power AM rig there when I am in the shack.

In the past both Spring and Fall has been my favorite seasons.  Now, with the mild summers we have had for the last several years, Summer is tolerable!

Our next home if we ever move will likely be further up north, possible coastal Maine.  Some of the new custom build manufactured homes in factories are very well done and extremely energy efficient.  Then they bring in big boxes on site and put together all the chunks and wa-lah you have a home that is very well built and is able to be heated and cooled with minimum energy.
