Is that a homebrew tractor project or a resto?

From where I'm setting, looks like a J.D. resto...

Hi Buddly, haven't seen your posts much lately, hope all's well out there...

New Holland? Ford? Fill us in.

Dave I heard you earlier this week on 40M AM at night. Nice signal into northern Virginia.

Thanks Buddly and Brad for the signal reports.

The 40 meter band has been in great shape here day and night.

Nice looking tractor project now where did you drop that one of a kind snap ring?

Fun project, Buddly. I sold my old '67 John Deere (they're green, Ralph ;) ) a while back. Neat little tractor right down to the steel tractor seat and fenders, but not intended for cutting 3 acres of field grass. Lost track of how many head gaskets I blew. Warped one head. Ended up selling it to a young guy in GA who is an electrical design engineer for John Deere's lawn tractor division. He got a real kick out of it.

Moved up to a Farmall Super A with a 5 foot Woods deck. Cuts nice and fast.

"New Homestead"? Sounds like you moved?

(Hi Dave)

Hi Todd,

Good schtuff! Love the Farmall.

Yup, I'm now in Stow, Ohio just NE of Akron. Not too far from Bill KA8WTK.

Hi Dave,

Sorry I had to run Friday night on 40M. We'll catch ya again soon.

Here's the motor before and then all prettied up. I pulled the head and pan, replaced the rings, lapped the valves to a pretty shine then put it all back together.
The other pic is of the front "grill"!

Motor goes on the chassis tonight.

Have two tractor projects going on right now, a John Deere B and MT. Also have a Bolens Ridemaster garden tractor to put back together, that's my own personal project. The John Deeres belong to my dad, but my brother and I are doing most of the work on them. Just got Pertronix electronic ignition kits this evening for the MT and our Farmall Super C, will be putting those on sometime soon. Supposed to be getting one for the B sometime in the near future.

Sold my John Deere STX138 to a restorer last Sat after about 15 years hard use. This is the only "tractor" I have now! ;D. It doesn't mow worth a hoot but sure is fun to drive!
