Title: W1AEX qso PE1MPH AM
Post by: pe1mph on February 18, 2014, 12:51:57 PM
Hello AM Lovers,

Today I listen again to 15 mtrs if I could hear an AM station.
First part of the afternoon totaly nothing in AM on 15 mtrs!
But just after 17.10 hour by I heard someone calling cq in AM.

On 21430 khz I heard W1AEX Rob and he heard me.
The same effect on 15 mtr band like yesterday, my S-metes goes.... ;D
Fast fading, but Rob moved my S-meter sometimes to S9!!
And he has a very nice audio, sounding good into my ears...

After our nice AM qso Rob were talking with 2 other stations.
I think they were comming evenso from the USA...
Some words I could hear from a man with the name: George?

Very strange I did hear today only Rob on 15 mtrs, no others in AM.

Oh by the way the old Yeasu FT 901 DM gives on 15 mtrs: 10 Watts.
Using the same ant. like on 'Ten' mtrs: horizontal wire +/- 25 mtrs long.

Rob, thanks for the fine qso,

Henk, PE1MPH

Thank you very much for the chat today on 15 meters Henk. The conditions were very good from the U.S. east coast to Europe today and I was hearing your signal very well. Before working you I also chatted with Aldo IW5EKR/mobile and he too was running S-7 to S-9 consistently. Attached is a picture of your signal in the panadapter of PowerSDR along with a 1.5 minute recording of one of your transmissions. Very nice signal coming into Connecticut today from the Netherlands! Hope to hear you again soon!
