Title: Need old fashoined connector for my Yaesu Landliner
Post by: w1vtp on February 17, 2014, 01:18:25 PM
Hi guys

I am resurrecting my Yaesu landliner and want to hook up my telephone.  The connector I'm looking for is a two pronged affair that I think was common during the 70's

Here's some pics of it sitting on top of my 2 meter repeater (that I just fixed).  Front and rear shots plus a close up

Al

Hi Al........ that looks like the same connector used on the Drake's power supply for amplifier keying. Perhaps someone here has an extra one.

Would this old phenolic Connector work? This was the connector type used to mute the Realistic DX-150.

It looks almost like a non polarized cheater cord. Would a chassis mount 2-pin AC connector off an ac/dc set fit that?

Pin to pin = 0.2"

Why don't you just make one. Small block of wood, two stiff wires that fit snugly into the mating connector, couple blobs of solder on each wire to hold them in place in the block of wood. Not beautiful, but functional.

Might come to that

How about an HC-25 crystal holder.  The pin spacing is 0.192"  pin dia. is 0.040"

Don't that that xtal type.  However, on a whim, I checked the spacing between pins on an octal tube and it's pretty close - Hmmm.

Nice Al, you are always welcome. My vacation will end soon. I have to be in Nashua for noon but otherwise open for business tomorrow.
